Life is full of surprises. The unexpected tasks, deadlines, and/or illnesses that come into our lives on what can seem like a daily basis. These circumstances can reek havoc in our spiritual wellness. We get tied up in the goings on. This can leave us feeling drained, or as I like to say "tapped-out". We often forget to invite the Lord into our every day. When we're on a roll, well, we're on a roll...uphill!! One of my favorite scriptures to pray and meditate on each morning, before my feet hit the ground running, is...
Isaiah 52:12 (NIV)...
But you will not leave in haste,
or go in flight;
for the Lord will go before you;
the God of Israel will be your rear guard.
This scripture, prayed to our beloved Creator and Counselor each day, invites Jesus to go with us; before us. Pray also for an obedient heart and mind set to follow HIM. Here's the bonus...He, too, promises to protect us, to be our 'rear guard' wherever, whenever. How cool is He? Jesus exhibits the most amazing love to us in this passage! He cherishes You and desires to be your leader. Life can get crazy. When it does, we have to take hold. Going it alone is most often times the loneliest of times, the most defeated of times. Invite Him in. You will begin to recognize HIM in all that comes your way. Promise.
